About the concert

There has always been a strong tradition of choral singing throughout the Newry and Mourne area in the form of school, church and community choirs. NCM have invited three of these local choirs to join forces under the expert direction of one of Ireland’s leading conductors, David Brophy.

David will be directing the combined choirs in a selection of pieces including Handel’s famous Hallelujah Chorus and the Jackie Wilson version of Higher and Higher. Other pieces will be performed during the concert by the individual choirs, led by their respective musical directors. Come and support this very special event that will bring local people of all ages and backgrounds together to sing as one voice.
